SANTA MONICA, Calif. [October 10, 2017] — This fall, Santa Monica welcomes brand-new dining, arts & culture, fitness and outdoor experiences to its eight unique neighborhoods. As a hub for culinary innovation, Santa Monica’s dining options continue to expand with the opening of new restaurants including a casual modern diner from chef Raphael Lunetta as well as an intimate tasting experience from James Beard award-wining chef Dave Beran. Free events return the Santa Monica Pier on the weekends, including yoga and outdoor movies. For those interested in the arts, Santa Monica debuted ROAM, a rotating public art program in Downtown Santa Monica with artwork by Emmy-Award winner Eric Rieger. Dialogue (Downtown Santa Monica) – Third Street Promenade welcomed Dialogue, an intimate tasting menu restaurant led by James Beard award-wining chef Dave Beran (formerly of Chicago’s Alinea and Next), to the neighborhood in September. Offering a set menu, the 18-seat restaurant tells a story via the tasting menu format, focusing on the produce of Southern California with relation to the seasons. Dialogue is open Tuesday through Saturday.

Lunetta All Day (Pico Blvd.) – Lunetta All Day is Santa Monica’s casual modern diner featuring new American eats from chef Raphael Lunetta, who also runs the popular Lunetta Dining Room & Bar next door. Uovo (Downtown Santa Monica) – A fine-casual restaurant from the co-owners of Sugarfish, serving up traditional pasta dishes made with fresh noodles flow in from Bologna, Italy. Uovo, which means egg in Italian, prepares its pasta daily using special dark-yoked Italian eggs. ROAM (Downtown Santa Monica) – ROAM Santa Monica is a rotating public art program in Downtown, featuring ground-breaking counterparty artists know for creating unique installations across the country. Front Porch Cinema (Pier/Ocean Ave.) – Front Porch Cinema, Southern California’s free movie series set under the stars and over the Ocean, returns to the Santa Monica Pier every Friday night this fall from Sept. 29-Oct. 27. During these free events, the Pier is transformed into a cozy and perfect setting for a night of movies, scrumptious food, themed drinks in the cinema lounge, and activities for the whole family. The audience can unwind on lawn chairs, curl up in comfy blankets, and watch on a giant screen with the highest quality HD-projection and line-array sound. Bird Rides Inc. Scooters (Downtown Santa Monica) – Santa Monica is home to the newly launched scooter sharing app, Bird. Launched in September by a former Uber employee, Bird makes it easy to explore all 8.3 square miles of Santa Monica while being environmentally friendly. Similar to a bikeshare or carshare program, black scooters are dispersed throughout Downtown Santa Monica and users can unlock one using a smartphone app. Each ride costs $1 plus 15 cents per minute, with the scooters traveling up to 15mph. At the conclusion of a ride, the user can leave the scooter at their destination and lock the scooter using the app.
