The Wit and Wisdom of Sholom Aleichem!
This acclaimed musical returns for a limited engagement, celebrating Yiddish storyteller Sholom Aleichem. Through his letters and tales, it explores his loves, losses, and optimism, highlighting our shared humanity.
The production features Chris DeCarlo as Aleichem and Evelyn Rudie portraying various characters, captivating over a quarter of a million audience members. Written by DeCarlo and Rudie, with songs by Emery Bernauer and Aleichem, it offers an engaging look at Aleichem’s vibrant world.
Presented by the Santa Monica Playhouse Jewish Heritage Project, the production honors Jewish theatre and cultural heritage, supported by various community grants.
