The Future: Optimistic or Very Afraid

Join 18th Street Arts Center for an all-ages event to celebrate the exhibition “An Earth Twin at the Digital Dawn: Tom Van Sant’s GeoSphere Project” presented by 18th Street Arts Center, Otis College of Art and Design, and Cypress College. This captivating exhibition celebrates Van Sant’s visionary creation of a “live Earth” model to promote planetary consciousness, and combat environmental devastation. Explore interactive installations, immersive visual displays, and spectacular sky-related artworks that illuminate Earth’s ecosystems.

Enjoy special tours from the curator, fly a giant augmented reality kite above Santa Monica, make paper seagulls and kites, create and mail postcards around environmental action to lawmakers, learn about powerful individual and small-group actions, participate in a Post-it note discussion on climate optimism, and discover local environmental resources.

RSVP is recommended to secure your spot. Join the 18th Street Arts Center for an afternoon of discovery and inspiration.
