Lensed Cyanotypes with Brittany & Melissa
This event has expired. Please visit the Events Calendar for current listings.
PLEASE NOTE THIS WORKSHOP REQUIRES A $5 MATERIAL FEE TO BE PAID TO INSTRUCTOR IN ADDITION TO THE CLASS FEE. Cyanotypes use a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. With the sun as the light source and everyday objects, explore effects with various lenses and transparent materials to explore the magnification process and how images transfer to create your own cyanotype print on paper. Guest instructor Melissa Tran is an artist and educator who is an Assistant Curator at the Torrance Art Museum and Educator at MOCA. Her work stems from an ongoing interest in traces, such as through identity and culture that run parallel to her interest in static and moving images as remnants of what once was. She received her MFA from Southern Methodist University and her BFA from the University of Houston.
