Jonathan Jin’s Solo Exhibition “Moments in My Life II” at bG gallery
bG gallery presents “Moments in My Life II”, a solo exhibition by Jonathan Jin. As an artist on the autism spectrum, Jin offers a unique perspective, bringing out a sense of healing, happiness, and love through his captivating works.
The exhibition commences with an opening reception on Saturday, August 19th, from 4-7 pm and will continue through August 24th. This solo exhibition notably follows just a week ahead of Jin’s mentor, the renowned Paul Art Lee, providing a unique opportunity to explore the influence and parallel themes between student and teacher.
Jonathan Jin, a graduate of Otis College of Art and Design, centers many of his artworks around dogs and their deep, enriching relationships with humans. He captures the deep cultural attachment and the sense of healing that these loyal companions bring to our lives.
Jin’s technique involves the use of photographs transformed into expressive, representational art. Initial variations are created using a computer program that simplifies the form, then further modified as his creative intuition directs. This approach allows Jin to explore different color arrays in chunks to harmonize the subject, aiming to evoke delightful emotions in viewers.
