In the not-too-distant future, life on Earth can no longer sustain itself. It’s up to pilot-turned farmer-turned-astronaut Matthew McConaughey (with an assist from scientist Anne Hathaway) to head into space to look for new worlds to inhabit. Combining family drama with eye-popping visuals and mind-expanding philosophical inquiry, Nolan’s sci-fi epic is one of the few films that not only invites but earns comparison with 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY.
