Big Blue Bus Getaway Los Angeles County Fair

Coastal Cleanup Day

With more than 12,000 volunteers expected to participate at more than 70 cleanup sites throughout Los Angeles County, Coastal Cleanup Day is set to celebrate its 24th anniversary as "the largest volunteer day on the planet". Annual Pico Art Walk and Vintage Auto Show Festival
Date: September 27, 2008
Time: 10am - 5pm
Location: Along Pico Blvd from Centinela to Main Street.
The "green-themed" event coincides with the AltCar Show at the Civic Auditorium. See galleries, studios and creative enterprises on Pico, some normally closed to the public. Virginia Avenue Park (on Pico) will host local artists, musical performers, childrens' art activities, the farmers' market, and "a taste of Pico" with special creations from participating Pico eateries. The Broad Stage Opening Night: Frederica von Stade with Jake Heggie

American Cinematheque Screenings: Aero Theatre

Farmers Markets
Santa Monica's four weekly farmers markets are widely considered to be among the best on the west coast and feature field-fresh produce, hundreds of kinds of vegetables, brilliant cut flowers, breads, cheeses, delicious foods, live music and more. 3rd Street/Arizona: every Wed 9am-1.30pm and Sat 8.30am-1pm. In approx. 2 hours and six blocks, the walk traverses more than 130 years of Santa Monica History, from its Wild West frontier beginnings to the sophisticated metropolis of today. The People's Voice
